John E. Harring age 81, longtime resident of Severna Park, passed away peacefully on January 27th at Brightview Senior Living. He was born on August 15, 1935 and grew up in Short Hills, NJ. He graduated from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics. John was the Vice President of Monumental Life Insurance Company where he was responsible for all commercial mortgage and real estate transactions. Later he was named Senior Vice President of AEGON USA Reality Advisors and retired in 1994. John enjoyed gardening and cheering for the Baltimore Ravens and Maryland Terps. He also enjoyed spending time at Bethany Beach with his beloved wife, Nancy of sixty years, sons Robert (Cindy), Donald, daughter Kim Stearns (husband Dan), grandchildren Christina Austin (husband David), Holly Godwin (husband Jeremy), David, Steven (wife Ginna), Gregory, Matthew, Shayna Bolton (husband John-Mark) and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Harold (wife Mary), sisters-in-law Justine and Joyce Freud and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate John's life on Saturday February 4th from 1-3 pm with a short service to follow at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Funeral Home at 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A small reception will be held at Brightview following the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake at 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
