With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of John David Grant-Monroe Wilson, who departed this life on July 8, 2025, at the age of 54.
John was a cherished father, son, brother, and friend whose kindness, humor, and strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering loyalty, and the love he gave freely to his family and those close to him.
He is lovingly survived by his daughters Isabelle Wilson and Helen Wilson, his son Ryan Wilson, and his bonus daughter Lillian Hooper, who brought additional joy and pride into his life. John is also survived by his devoted stepfather David, his beloved aunt Donna Sherman, and his caring sister Ruth Powell.
John’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
A prayer in his memory:
“When I must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve and shed wild tears. And hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile; and for my sake and in my name, live on and do all things the same; feed not your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways, reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; and never, never be afraid to die. For I am waiting for you in the sky.”
John’s spirit, love, and memory will remain forever in our hearts.
