John R. Contreras 1960 - 2017 John R. Contreras, 57, of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, surrounded by his loving family. John was born on Feb. 11, 1960, in Plainview, Tex., the son of the late Jose and Maria (Perez) Contreras. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. John married Yvonne Garcia on July 3, 1999, in Kenosha. He owned & operated Contreras Tax Service for many years. John was a member of Parkway Apostolic Church of Oak Creek. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, cheering for the Packers, playing the saxophone at church, and most of all spending time with family & friends, especially his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Contreras of Kenosha; children, Stephanie (Ishamel) Torres of Kenosha, John Contreras Jr. of Kenosha, Maricela Noyola of Kenosha, Miguel (Paulina) Noyola of Tex.; brother, Jimmie (Janie) Contreras of Tex.; sisters, Elvia Hernandez of Kenosha, Maria Gonzalez of Kenosha, Stella Ynosencio of Tex., Vasilia (Rafael) Escobedo of Kenosha, Maria de Jesus (Casper) Evangelista of Tex.; and ten grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Louis and Joe Manuel, and a sister, Delfina. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Apostolic Missionary Church of Kenosha, 5824 7th Ave., Kenosha, WI, from 5 - 8 p.m., with funeral services to be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Apostolic Missionary Church at 10 a.m. Burial at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
