John ChurchillJohn Churchill, 57, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 13, 2017. His wife of 27 years was at his side. A memorial service will be held at, Culley's MeadowWood on Riggins Road on Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 PM. John was the loving husband of Mary Keenan-Churchill and devoted father to Keenan Churchill and Conor Churchill. He is also survived by his mother, Sonia, his two sisters, Susanne and Carolyn, and their immediate families.Originally from New York City, John was born on June 22, 1959 to Sonia and William Churchill. John was a classically trained guitarist receiving his Masters Degree at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and went on to pursue his post doctorate in guitar performance at Florida State University. For many years, John was actively involved with the Taoist Tai Chi Society, an international non-profit whose aim is to make available the health benefits of Tai Chi to all who wish to participate. John was a supporting member, volunteer instructor and served as the Tallahassee Branch Council President.The Churchill family would like to extend our sincere appreciation of the love and support extended to us by our community of friends and neighbors.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Taoist Tai Chi Society, 2100 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, 32308.
