John BurkettJohn Douglas Burkett, 76 of Reeds Spring, MO went to his heavenly home on June 20, 2017 at 1:50 PM with his immediate family and friends by his side. John was born on January 15, 1941 to Delores and J.D. Burkett in Muskogee, OK. Devoted husband of 54 years to Charlotte Oslin Burkett, father to Lori Burkett Ray and grandfather to Joshua Ray. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Burkett and nephew Tommy Burkett. He is survived by his brothers Joe Burkett, wife Mildred and children Jimmy and Chris, Vernon Burkett, wife Sally and son Dale, Alan Burkett and wife Cherryl all of Muskogee, OK also John's wife Charlotte Oslin Burkett, daughter Lori Burkett Ray, son-in-law Karl Ray and grandson Joshua Ray. John was a high school business / typing teacher and assistant football coach for Reeds Spring School District from 1965-1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and being with friends and family. Memorial service will be held at the new Reeds Spring Middle School Auditorium on Saturday, July 1st at 10:00AM
