Joel graduated from Burns High school. Joel worked at Grass cutting/Forman.

Joel is survived by 7 children: Lawanda Fisher (ornelious ), Charles Wright (Keisha ), Jimmie Wright, Jimmie Hock (Janet), Eddie Mae Bates (Chris), Aretha Wesson, and Pasty Diane Jones.
