A Memorial service will be conducted on Saturday September 17 2016 at 1:00 pm in the South chapel of George A Smith and Sons with Rev. Dan Weathersbee officiating.Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time serviceMr. Hayes was born on June 2, 1933 in Junction City Arkansas to the late Alsey and Rose Sumners Hayes. He retired after working many years in insurance. He was an extremely active member of Malesus United Methodist Church serving on the Board of Trustees, a Wednesday night cook, and became the loving caretaker of the Church's Prayer Garden. He was a humble Army Veteran who was proud of his Military Service.Other than his parents, Mr. Hayes was also preceded in death by 3 brothersHe is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Rowe Hayes, A son Jim Hayes of Jonesboro, AR a daughter, Holly Brill and husband Bob of Shreveport, LA, 3 step daughters, Leanne Mattingly and Husband Victor of Franklin, Linda Reese and husband Mark of Ashland City, and Laura Mayo of Belleview, TN. He is also survived by a sister Jean Lanigro, and 3 grandchildren, Sam Mattingly, Grace Elizabeth Mattingly, and Emily Mayo.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to .
