Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29 at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel for Joe A. Fuentes of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Fuentes, 46, passed away on April 23, 2017 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX.Frank Bueno will officiate at the service. Pallbearers are Aaron Berdoza, Adrian Lozano, Joe Gomez, Jaime Berdoza, Steve Berdoza and Hiram Ortega. Honorary pallbearers are Alonzo Cobos, Agapito Berdoza, Harry Berdoza and Paul Fodge.Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Joe was born on February 25, 1971 in Odessa, TX; the son of Damacio and Nancy (Avila) Fuentes. He came to Artesia in 1996 from Carlsbad, NM. On May 25, 1996 he married Yolanda Berdoza in Artesia. He was employed by Mosaic Mines as a potash miner. He was a Jehovah Witness and enjoyed tinkering with cars, his honey-do lists and his kid's activities. He was preceded in death by his mother.Survivors include his wife Yolanda Fuentes of Artesia; daughter Makayla Fuentes; son Brayden Fuentes; father Damacio Fuentes of Carlsbad; sisters Estella Gomez, Patricia Fuentes and Lorina Cobos all of Carlsbad, and Nancy Berdoza of Midland, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
