Snyder, JoanneJoanne Snyder, age 83, passed away on October 19, 2017 after a short illness. Joanne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman E. Snyder and was the daughter of the late Carl Kenneth Sidle & the late Maria Elizabeth Capone Sidle. She was born on September 2, 1934, in Lyons, NY and was predeceased by her son Kevin Michael Snyder. Joanne graduated from Ithaca High School Class of 1952. She worked as an executive secretary at G.E., Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Morse Emerson until she retired in 1996. She loved to read, crochet, and travel and after her retirement, she became an avid golfer and was actively involved in organizations serving as an officer in the Red Hat Society and Lansing Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and had an unrivaled vocabulary. Most importantly, Joanne spent much time serving as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Joanne is further survived by her sons Norman, Jr. (Michaela) of Wilton, CT; Scott (Sue) of Austin, TX; Deron (Karen) of Moravia, NY; her daughter-in-law Kathleen Snyder of Lansing, NY; her grandchildren Cullen, Madison, Norman III ?Trey?, Cole, Merrick, Kathryn, Matthew, Kennedy, Farren, Shelbi, Kacey, Tryston; her sister and brother, Andrea Hodges and Marshall ?Lou? Sidle both of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and their families. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, kindness, sense of humor and constant support to all those around her and she will be deeply missed by all. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 pm Sunday, November 5th at Bangs Funeral Home in Ithaca, NY. Church service will be Monday, November 6th at 10:30 am at All Saints Church in Lansing, NY with burial services immediately following at the Asbury Cemetery in Lansing. A celebration of her life will be held from 12 noon to 3 pm after the services have concluded at the Lakewatch Inn.
