Mrs. JoAnne Karen Abbitt of Norfolk, VA departed this life Monday, January 28, 2019 at her residence. Born in Lynchburg on September 23, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Grace E. Thomas and the late Robert Thomas. 

She was the member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and was retired from Lynchburg General Hospital (Centra Health). She is survived by one daughter, Teneisha Abbitt; two sons, Sherwin Abbitt, Terrence Abbitt; 7 grandchildren. 

JoAnne loves God, her family, and her job. She also loved her extended family on Daniel’s Hill. She loved coming to church and especially loved hearing her kids sing.
