JoAnn Childs Barkley, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at her home in Ripley. She was born on November 29, 1936, to Marlin and Vernal Cox Childs in Tippah County, Mississippi. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 2, 2016, in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jack Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Peoples Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Friday, December 2, 2016, from 7:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at McBride Funeral Home. JoAnn is survived by one daughter, Pam Barkley Wheatley of New Albany; one son, Trent Barkley (Michelle) of Ripley; two sisters, Sarah Ruth Jackson and Joyce Voyles (Bobby); one brother, Johnny Childs (Paulette), all of Ripley; five grandchildren, Andrea Estes (Bryan) of Ripley; Stephanie Morris (Chris) of Baldwyn; Jake Barkley (Hope); Nathan Wooley (Stephanie), all of Ripley; Clara Kennedy (Kevin Clagett) of Panama City, Florida; twelve great-grandchildren, Gunnar Kirkman, Khloe Braddock, Ellie Estes, Paul Estes, Laken Estes, Harleigh Wheelington, Autumn Morris, Jenna Lee Hester, Skylar and Easton Barkley, Perry and Baylor Wooley; a special friend, J.C. Mullins of Rienzi. Preceding her in death were her husbands, Billy Hugh Robertson and Perry Barkley; her parents; one brother, Larry Childs, one daughter-in-law, Jenny Mauney Barkley; one son-in-law, Jerry Wheatley. Pallbearers will be Jake Barkley, Nathan Wooley, Skylar Barkley, Gunnar Kirkman, Bryan Estes, Chris Morris. Memorials in memory of JoAnn may be made to Mt.
