Joan NewmanJackson, TNMrs. Joan Newman, age 69 of Jackson, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 22, 2016. She was born on September 7, 1947 in Jackson, TN to the late Robert Woodrow McGuffin and Doris Ann Utley McGuffin. She was a dispatcher for Max Trans Trucking Company for many years. She also enjoyed spending time at her home on the Tennessee River.In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jennifer Castlelaw and her grandparents, Buford Joel "Boots" Utley, Sr. and Annie Laura Utley.She is survived by her mother, Doris Ann Utley Collins of Medon; a son, Daniel Wentzell of Jackson; granddaughter, Elizabeth Christine Wentzell; her brother, Robert McGuffin; and three sisters, Laura Conquest (Wes), Johnnie Wiley (Ricky), and Kathy Kail; and several nieces and nephewsVisitation with the family will be Saturday evening, September 24, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at George A.
