Joan T. Brunker 1933 - 2016 Joan T. Brunker, 82, of Somers, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at her home. She was born on July 1, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Leiser) Duschene. On Nov. 6, 1954, in Chicago, Ill., she was united in marriage to Robert H. Brunker. She and her husband raised nine children. After the children were grown, Joan worked as a reservation agent with Midway Airlines for several years. She was a member of AARP and kept active enjoying water aerobics, quilting, reading and working jigsaw puzzles. Joan is survived by her husband, Robert of 61 years; her children, Jeanne (Vince) Jarzabek, Linda (David) Novak, Timothy (Gail) Brunker, Mariann Brunker, Richard (Diane) Brunker, Robert (Cynthia) Brunker, Jennifer (Michael) Banis, Amy (James) Koch and Martin (Dawn) Brunker and 21 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Piasecki Althaus Funeral Home. A visitation for Joan will be held on Sunday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
