Jo Ann A. CheyneAthens Jo Ann A. Cheyne, age 80, of Athens passed away February 9, 2017 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.Jo Ann was born on July 13, 1936 in Kalamazoo, MI to DeNise and Alice Marie (Allen) Hoskin. She graduated from Athens High School with the class of 1954. Jo Ann married Erwin J. "Buster" Cheyne on July 2, 1955 and they had four children. She and Buster shared 61 loving years together. Jo Ann worked for a time at the Merchants Hardware Store in Athens, but was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, collecting, and gardening. Jo Ann was also a leader in the Blue Birds group, and then The Campfire Girls. She was also a part of the Athens Band Boosters. Jo Ann is survived by her husband, Buster; children, Karen (Bart) Boyer of Burlington, Becky Cheyne of Mendon, Don (Sherry) Cheyne of Athens, and Lu Ann Frost of Charlotte; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, DeNise and Alice Marie; sister's, Le Ella Moore and Neta K. Ramsdell; and brother, Neal J. Hoskin.Visitation will take place at the Craig Kempf Funeral Homes, 723 US 27 North, Marshall Chapel on Tuesday February 14, 2017 from 4-7pm with family present to greet friends at that time.
