We are saddened to announce the passing of Jimmie Haughey, who was born on July 9, 1934, in Springdale, Arkansas, to George Harvey Haughey and Allie Lucinda Hoffarth. Jimmie passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 91.
Jimmie is survived by his children:Lisa Gaye Snider, Jay Dee Haughey, Peggy Sue Haughey Elkin, and Judi Lynn Haughey, his sisters Susan Elaine Creger and Lora Pauline Fanning and his 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father George Harvey, his mother Allie Lucinda, his stepdad Edwin Bartlett Welkley, his son James William Haughey, his grandson Ian Haughey, 3 brothers Donald Eugene Haughey, Gerald Wayne Haughey, Donnie Lee Welkley, and 3 sisters Georgetta Juanita Haughey, Lucille Miles and Rita Faye Nickels.
Jimmie attended Orange High School and graduated in 1953, the first of his siblings to do so. He went on to work as a Cabinet Maker, where he demonstrated his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Outside of his work, Jimmie had a passion for his forest animals including the deer, squirrels, red fox, raccoons, wild turkeys, hummingbirds, skunks and even a bear. He loved the town of Wrightwood, camping, fishing, shooting competitions, car racing while a young man, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and creating lasting memories with them.
Jimmie Haughey will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dad would never say goodbye as to him it was never goodbye it was always talk to you later or see you later and he always told everyone leaving his home “I Love You, Be Safe. So everyone present at today’s service “Dad LovesYou All. Be safe getting home”
