Jill Elizabeth Miller, 57, of Waverly, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Unity Point Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.Jill was born on Oct. 29, 1959, in Waverly, the daughter of Scott V. and Marie (Crawford) Whitley. She was raised in Waverly and graduated from the Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1978. On Nov. 11, 1978, Jill was united in marriage to Wade Miller at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waverly. During her life Jill worked as a bus driver at Waverly-Shell Rock Schools, at North East Regional Head Start, and as a manager at Sub City, retiring in 2011.Jill's memory is honored by: her husband, Wade Miller, of Waverly; two children, Wesley (Nicole) Miller, of Valley Springs, S.D., and Shelby (Nathan) Forey, of Waverly; her father, Scott V. Whitley, of Waverly; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Jeff Whitley, of Colorado; two sisters; Cindy (Kurt) Kugel, of Waverly, and Heather McClatchey, of Iowa City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.Jill has been cremated and a gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, Feb. 27, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, where the family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Burial of her cremains will be held at a later date.
