On June 4, 2024, the world lost a beloved member of the Vinton, Louisiana community. James Anthony Merchant, born on March 3, 1971, passed away at the age of 53.

James was the son of Jerry and Brenda Merchant and was married to his loving spouse, Kathy, in 1991. Together, they raised two beautiful children, Jessica and Jennifer. James was also a proud grandparent to two granddaughters and grandson on the way.

Throughout his life, James had a passion for hunting, fishing, and cooking. He spent countless hours enjoying these hobbies and sharing his love for the outdoors with his family and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his mother, Brenda Merchant. He is survived by is wife, Kathy Merchant, father, Jerry Merchant, daughters, Jessica and Jennifer Merchant, grandchildren, Eastyn and Laiklyn Locklear.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His joyful spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on those he encountered.
