Jessica Stone, a beloved resident of Montague, California, bid farewell to us on December 29, 2023, at the tender age of 35. Born on July 29, 1988, she was a cherished member of our community and Siskiyou Christian Fellowship. Jessica died suddenly Friday as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Amsterdam, NY she was the daughter of the late William A. and Laura J. Wintermute.

She received a Bachelors degree through UC Davis in Wildlife Biology. Jessica was currently employed with Jefferson Resource Company working in forestry in Siskiyou County. Prior to that Jessica served in the United States Army for 5 years from 2005-2010 as an animal care specialist.

She was the wife of Benjamin A. Stone who also died in the same accident. She is the mother of Hennessey R. and Jaymeson A. Brunson of Weed, CA, and Rose A. and Faith E. Stone of Santa Rosa, CA. She is the sister of Marie A. Wintermute of Troy, NY, William A. Wintermute of Galway, NY, Jennifer S. Wintermute of Rensselaer, NY, and William Handy II of Stillwater, NY.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday January 20, 2023 at 2pm at the Siskiyou Christian Fellowship Church, 810 N. Oregon Street, Yreka, CA 96097. Burial services will be in Santa Rosa, CA at a later date to be determined.
