Jerry R. Shook, 82Muncie - MUNCIE- Jerry R. Shook, 82, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his residence.He was born on August 28, 1935 in Muncie, the son of Arthur D. and Roma T. (McKinley) Shook and attended Muncie Central High School. Jerry served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1960-1962. On August 6, 1960, he married Ruth Slaven in Muncie.He worked for Fisher Body for over 30 years until his retirement in 1992. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR and especially baseball.Survivors include his wife of over 57 years, Ruth Shook of Muncie; one son, Jeff Shook (wife, Lisa) of Losantville; five grandchildren, Chad Hinds (wife, Rogeal), Jordan Bole, Ashtynn, Chloe and Maddison Shook; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Rowan Hinds; and one sister, Barbara Sexton of Greenfield.He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sharon Bole; and two brothers, Dale and Charles Shook.Graveside services and burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Elm Ridge Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Delaware County.Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.meeksmortuary.com
