We are deeply saddened to announce that Jerry Clough passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 81 in Mason City, Illinois, United States.

Jerry was born on May 23, 1944, to his parents, Gerald and Wilma Clough. He is survived by his loving spouse, Shirley Clough, whom he married in the year 1964. Together, they had three children: Kathy Dinea (Ronald Dinea), Allen Clough, and Shawn Clough (Jessica Rodriguez). Jerry was also a proud grandfather of four grandchildren: Jared Reedy, Leigh Clough, Katherine Dinea, Matthew Dinea and many great grandchildren.

After graduating high school, Jerry worked hard at the oil rig industry. Later in life, he inherited the family farm. Jerry had a strong work ethic. He would work from sunrise to sunset. You would often find him in an old flannel shirt and ripped jeans (he did not buy them like this either). Often, he would jokingly tell his grandkids, “Come work on the farm—”you’ll never need store-bought ripped jeans!” His grandchildren were frequently the targets of his playful jokes. He faithfully attended every special moment, including baseball, basketball, football, and softball games, never missing a beat. He was a dedicated family man, always putting his loved ones first.

People will remember Jerry for his caring heart, his willingness to help those in need, and his infectious laughter and warm smile. He impacted the lives of everyone who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Jerry was a simple man. He requested to be cremated. Furthermore, he requested no funeral service but, rather, a small family gathering for a celebration of life/memorial. The family will hold the celebration of life on June 27, 2025, at 12 p.m., at the Lakehouse. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in Jerry's name.
