Jeremy Ritchie Sr., a beloved member of the Miami & Freeport community, It is with profound sadness and yet a heart filled with gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Jeremy Ritchie Sr. on June 12, 2025, at the age of 59. Jeremy's departure from this world came after a courageous battle with End-Stage Renal Disease, a fight he faced with the same dignity and resilience that characterized his entire life. Born on October 4, 1965, in the sun-kissed paradise of Freeport, Bahamas, Jeremy was a beacon of light from the very start. The beloved son of Johnathan and Aretha Ritchie, Jeremy spent his formative years soaking in the warmth of his family and community. From a young age, he displayed a zest for life and a natural inclination to uplift those around him. An alumnus of Bishop Michael Eldon, Jeremy's educational journey was one of dedication and achievement. He attended the esteemed institution from Pre-K through 12th grade before pursuing higher education at the University of the Bahamas, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science. It was here that he cultivated not only a love for learning but also a deep commitment to helping others, values that would guide him throughout his life. Jeremy's career was marked by a fervent dedication to community service and mentorship. He was a man who could light up a room with his vibrant personality and possessed a unique ability to connect with the youth, guiding them onto the right path. His skills on the grill were legendary, often bringing people together over delicious meals and hearty laughter. Jeremy was not just a man who enjoyed life; he was a man who enriched the lives of others. In 1999, two years after relocating to Miami, FL, Jeremy married the love of his life, Amanda. Their 24 years of marriage were filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they raised their son, Jeremy Ritchie Jr., who carries forward his father's legacy with pride and honor. Jeremy's family was his greatest treasure, and his love for them was limitless. Jeremy leaves behind his devoted wife, Amanda, their cherished son Jeremy Jr., his brothers Franklin, Thomas, and Michael Ritchie, and a grandchild who brought him immense joy. His family was the cornerstone of his life and his greatest source of pride. A free-spirited soul with a heart open to all, Jeremy was known for his generous spirit and his unwavering commitment to his community. Whether through donations, volunteer work, or simply sharing a cigar and conversation, he made a difference in the lives of many. A memorial service to honor Jeremy's remarkable life will be held on June 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Calvary Temple, located at G8P7+VC3, Clive Ave, Freeport, Bahamas.
