Jerald Bortner, resident of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away at the age of 80, Wednesday, April 14th at 11:37am, due to medical complications.

Jerry, was born in Ripley, New York, February 3rd, 1941. In 1961 he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He began working for Sal's towing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he worked faithfully for 40 years. He married his wife June 17th, 1989. He has served his country by completing tours in the Army. He was a beloved father, husband, grand father and a beloved brother.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Wilkins-Bortner, his brother Ron Bortner of Bedford, Indiana, followed by his sons Gerald Bortner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kevin Bortner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Trish Bortner of Indianapolis Indiana, Tracy Bortner-Puckett of Pompano Beach Florida, Theresa Jarret of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Unfortunately, his daughter Deborah Bortner passed in 2017.
