Jennifer Smith, beloved mother, sister, friend, and longtime resident of Dallas, Texas, passed away on March 30, 2023, at the age of 73.
Jennifer was born on January 1, 1950, and grew up in a close-knit family in Dallas. She attended the University of Texas, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. After graduation, Jennifer became an elementary school teacher, a profession she loved and excelled in for over 20 years.
Throughout her life, Jennifer was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She was a natural caregiver who always put the needs of others before her own, and was happiest when she was helping someone else.
Jennifer enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including reading, gardening, and traveling. She was an avid reader and loved nothing more than curling up with a good book. Her beautiful garden was a source of pride and joy, and it was a serene oasis for her and her loved ones. She also loved to travel, and her favorite trips were always the ones she took with her family.
Despite facing many challenges and difficulties throughout her life, Jennifer remained steadfastly optimistic and hopeful. She maintained a deep faith in God and believed that even in the darkest of times, there was always a reason to be grateful.
Jennifer is survived by her two children, Michael and Sarah; her sister, Susan; and many cherished friends and family members. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at UT Southwestern Medical Center for their exceptional care and compassion during Jennifer's final days.
A celebration of Jennifer's life will be held at a later date.
