.Jenifer Ashlee Tuft, born July 26, 1996, in Decatur, Georgia, was the cherished daughter of Belinda Tuft and Lawrence Tuft. Known affectionately as "Ashlee" by her family, she spent her early childhood in a warm, multi-generational home filled with love, growing up alongside her older brother Erik and cousins Mariah and Makayla. She formed lifelong bonds with her best friends, Jakael Bush and Deyzha Moore.
As a teenager, Jenifer proudly became a big sister to Jordan Tuft, her younger sister on her father’s side—a bond that meant the world to her.
A gifted performer from a young age, Jenifer was known for her stunning voice and vibrant stage presence, often taking home first place trophies in school talent shows. She also learned to play the violin as part of her elementary school orchestra. Her passion for music continued into adulthood, where she recorded original songs showcasing her abilities as both a singer and rapper under the name Hennie. Many of her songs remain unreleased, but her talent was undeniable.
Jenifer attended Cedar Grove High School, where she ran track and met her soulmate, Chance Baines. After graduating in 2014, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Clayton State University. She had a deep love for coding and aspired to build a career in IT and cybersecurity. Ambitious and hardworking, Jenifer earned her CDL and worked for MARTA while continuing to chase her dreams in the tech world.
Jenifer had a wide range of passions that reflected her colorful personality. She loved anime—especially Dragon Ball and Hunter x Hunter—and had a soft spot for cars, most notably her signature white Camaro. Whether she was dancing, singing, drawing, cooking, or doing her hair, nails, and makeup, Jenifer always brought her full creativity and flair. She was fly, fun, and full of energy—always herself, whether she was being goofy, serious, or somewhere in between.
She was soft-spoken but strong, loving but firm, always able to see the good in others while standing her ground when necessary. Jenifer was a "serious-unserious" soul: sweet, a little corny, socially awkward in the most lovable way, and endlessly entertaining.
Jenifer Ashlee Tuft passed away on July 28, 2025, at Emory University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered forever for her honesty, creativity, ambition, humor, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her.
