Life of Jennie

Jennie Collins of Augusta, Georgia passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born on December 9, 1941 to Harrison and Brenda Dunn.

She married the love of her life, Gary Johnson, in 1947 and together they raised six wonderful children: Sharrieta, Sabra (who is married to Matilda), Gabriel, Shiron, Sandrato (who is married to Micheal Chatmon), and Shadreika (who is married to Greg Williams).

Jennie attended T.W. Josey High School and graduated in 1959. She went on to study at Clark Atlanta University, where she graduated in 1964.

Jennie had a long and fulfilling career as a School Teacher, retiring in 2007. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, volunteering, and traveling the world.

Jennie will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband, children, and eight adoring grandchildren.

Jennie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
