Jeffrey David RyderSomis, CAJeffrey David Ryder (Jeff) passed away on October 15, 2017 following a brief battle with cancer. Jeff, who recently lived in Somis, was born on October 23, 1957 in Los Angeles, California. As a young boy he often spent his summers with his brothers and sisters at their grandparents home in Somis. He grew up in Chatsworth, California and attended Chatsworth High School. Jeff became an accomplished heavy equipment operator, working for more than 25 years on large construction projects throughout California and Arizona. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating on the Colorado River, restoring cars, and riding motorcycles. Jeff was a devoted husband and loving father who cherished time with his grandchildren. Jeff is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ryder, his daughter Hayley and her husband Shawn, along with their five children. His oldest daughter Joni, survived by her two children, passed away previously. Jeff is also survived by his brother Steve, his sisters Kim and Shawna, and their respective spouses and children. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Somis Women's Club, Somis, California.
