Jeffrey D. Clay, Jr.MANSFIELD: Jeffrey D. Clay, Jr., 34, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.Jeffrey was born on April 24, 1982 in Mansfield to Jeffrey Sr. and Kathy (Slayton) Clay. Jeffrey was a wonderful man, and he could put a smile on your face no matter the mood. He loved his kids, family and friends more than anything. He enjoyed a nice night on the bank with a fishing pole in his hand, and loved to sing out loud to any kind of music, but country music was his favorite. He was an active person, and a very hard worker. Many of his family and friends enjoyed his cooking talents, either in the kitchen or on the grill.Along with his parents, he is survived by three children, Jeffrey Clay, Malaijiha Clay, and Tyler Clay, all of Mansfield, and their mother, Chantilly Clay; three step-children, Autumn Marsey, Lizzy Howell, Erica Howell, all of Shelby, and their mother, Georgina Marsey; one sister, Shanna Clay of Mansfield; his uncles, Tommy Slayton and Johnny Slayton; and many other family members and friends.Jeffrey was preceded in death by his nephew, Adajawn Clay; maternal grandparents, Margie and John W. Slayton; and paternal grandmother, Ruby Clay.Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield.
