Jeannette R. Baird84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospice. Jeannette R. Baird of Indianapolis, IN passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospice. Jeannette was born on November 22, 1932 in Shady Grove, Alabama to the late William and Edna (Ingram) Rushing. She was raised on a farm where she enjoyed her country childhood. After graduating from high school in Montgomery, Alabama, she met Dr. Glenn Baird and married in 1958. Their life in the Air Force took them to many exotic locations.Jeannette and Glenn eventually settled in Evansville, IN where they raised their 3 children. She was passionate about her family, her church, and gardening. She was a very active member of Salem United Methodist Church where she made many lifelong friends.Jeannette moved to Indianapolis after the death of her husband to be close to her grandchildren. She continued to pursue her passion for gardening and attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Jeannette was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be enormously missed.Her husband, Dr. Glenn Baird, preceded Jeannette in death. Her children, Dr. Nancy Baird of Indianapolis, IN, Kyle Baird of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Leah Baird of Indianapolis, IN survive her. Her grandchildren Lauren Ritchie of St. Paul, MN and Sarah Ritchie of Austin, TX also survive her.Burial and funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 29, 2017 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery, 6400 Oak Hill Rd., Evansville, IN 47725 with Pastor Pastor Bessie Adams officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 6311 Kratzville Rd., Evansville, IN 47710.Condolences may be made online at www.browningfuneral.com
