Jeanette “Nettie”Prats

Jeanette “Nettie” Prats 63, a lifelong resident of St. Bernard, LA born October 11, 1961 entered eternal life on March 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Nettie’s life consisted of always helping those less fortunate, her heart was especially touched when it involved the elderly and sick, many of her years of work with them gave her an unmeasured amount of contentment.

Her greatest attributes was the love she bestowed on her late husband Russell Prats, Sr. of 41 years, her children and grandchildren, these were her priorities in life to give love and spread joy amongst all who knew her.

Nettie’s gift of love & admiration towards everyone she encountered will always reflect the person she was,

filling our hearts with fond memories.

She leaves us with a simple gesture, I am home, I am where I belong. 

Nettie is survived by her children, Sherry Prats; Rachel Prats; Kristy Bartley (Jeremiah);

Chad Henritzy (Ashley); Dustin Hume (Janice); Fifteen Grandchildren; One Great Grandchild;

sister Barbara Seal (Richard) and many other family members and friends.

Nettie is preceded in death by her devoted husband Russell Prats, Sr.; son Russell “Bubba” Prats, Jr.; grandson Matthew “Baby Matt” Gordon Smith, Jr; parents Leonard and Grace Morales; sister Janie Morales; adored aunt Gloria Morales Mulvihill.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service honoring the life of Jeanette “Nettie” Prats at CharbonnetFamily Services, 4917 E. Judge Perez Dr., Violet, LA 70092 on Monday April 14, 2025. Visitation 11am – 1pm, Service 1pm -2pm.
