Jean R. (Roscoe) Lewis, 67, of Harrisburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at her home while in the loving arms of her family. Jean was born on May 9, 1948 in Nesquehoning, to the late George and Julianna (Faye) Roscoe. She worked for 35 years for the PA Department of Public Welfare attaining the position of Executive Director of the Schuylkill County Assistance Office before retiring to spend time with her husband.Jean was a vibrant, loving, caring and creative artist, cook and decorator. She was and always will be the driving force for her family, friends and anyone who knew her.In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her son, John Lewis.Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Raymond Lewis; her son Rodney Lewis and wife Tia Bretz-Lewis, both of Harrisburg; and her brother Edward Roscoe of Nesquehoning.A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home. A visitation was held prior to the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
