LAURINBURG — Janice Grooms Stubbs, 69, died on Aug. 2, 2014 at Morrison Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following at Pinecrest Cemetery.

Janice was born on June 14, 1945 a daughter of the late Alton and Louise Strickland Grooms. She worked in management in the restaurant and grocery store business before retiring. She served as a member of the Gibson Pentecostal Holiness Church, loved to cook, and collected Elvis memorabilia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister who truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings Cliffton Grooms, Jessie Grooms and Rosa Lee Quick.

Janice is survived by her daughters Patricia Wagner and husband Terry of Laurinburg and Helen Bruton of Laurinburg, sons Markie Bailey and Kenny Bailey both of Massachusetts, brothers Boyce Grooms and Leroy Grooms, sisters Stella Jackson and Joyce Turner of Laurinburg, grandchildren Rachel Phillips and Beth West, great-grandchildren Darius West, Brian Welch, Jr. and Harmony Welch, and a host of nieces and nephews.
