After suffering a series of strokes over six years ago, her husband, Norman, faithfully cared for her at home. She was born on October 1, 1937, to Clendon and Luella Bair in Richmond, Utah. She spent most of her growing up years in Richmond and Smithfield with her four brothers and three sisters. She graduated from North Cache where she loved her sewing, business, and shorthand classes. She used these skills throughout her life. Mom started working in Logan at the Temple as a secretary at the age of 18. This is where she met her eternal companion. Norman and Janet were married on May 1, 1959, in the Logan Temple. Norman and Janet are the parents of eight children: Curtis (Ann), Bountiful, UT; Todd (Lisa), Sugar City, ID; JaNel (Brad) Snow, Sandy, UT; Sandra (Chris) Checketts, Providence, UT; Sidney, Payson, UT; LuWana (Brian) Hunt, North Logan, UT; Troy (Angie), Bancroft, ID; and Jed (Traci), Farr West, UT. Mom filled her days with service. She enjoyed her church callings, Primary President, Primary Teacher, and Den Mother just to name a few. Later mom and dad were called to serve as officiators in the Logan Temple followed by a mission to the Manila Philippines Temple. Janet had many talents and hobbies, including knitting which she was able to do even after her stroke. Lovingly, she knitted hundreds of scarves for friends, grandchildren, and others, sewing, reading, and visiting her family brought joy to her life. She loved her friends in the book club, DUP, Chesterfield Foundation, and Caribou County Historical Society. Mom and dad spent many hours doing genealogy and family history work. She also loved going shopping with her sisters. She was a proof reader, a writer for the Caribou County Sun, and a mail carrier. Her most enjoyable calling in life was GRANDMA. Her 33 grandkids and three great grandkids knew that Grandma loved them. Funeral services will be held at the Bancroft LDS Church on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 am.
