On May 1st, 2023, the world lost an amazing person. Jamila, better known as Pinky Wheeler, passed away at the age of 43 in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

She was born on November 4th, 1979, to the proud parents of Benard "Duke" Pickett and Janell Wheeler. Pinky's family was her everything, and she had ten beloved children: Parris B, Takara B, Takerra B, Madison H, Cain S, Monica H, Pierra, YoHance J, Seriniti A, and Shabah A. Her love for family extended beyond her children; her grandmother Frankie aka BB, one true brother Adisa W, one niece Jamara T, countless cousins, uncles and aunties whom she loved. Pinky was a force to be reckoned with. Throughout her life, she was a fierce protector of those she loved, she was funny, had a smart mouth, and ready to fight. Pinky had a smile that lit up any room she entered. Pinky was fiercely protective of her family, always putting them first. Pinky was loved by many, and her passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew her. Her memory will live on forever through the countless lives she touched with her love, sense of humor, and protectiveness.
