Jamie (Nickens) Reed, 46MUNCIE - Jamie (Nickens) Reed, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, December 31, 2016.She was born on July 12, 1970 in Muncie, the daughter of James and Betty A. (Tobias) Nickens and graduated from Wapahani High School in 1989. Jamie graduated from Bosma School of the Blind in January, 2014 and attended Ivy Tech Community College. On July 23, 2016 in Muncie, she married Matthew T. Reed.She worked at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in the dietary department until her disability forced her to stop working. Jamie was a member of Grace & Mercy Gospel Church and New Covenant Ministries.She loved to sing and serve in music ministry; loved photography and enjoyed fishing and camping.Surviving are her husband, Matthew T. Reed of Muncie; one son, Jordan Nickens of Arlington, TX; her mother, Betty A. Nickens of Selma; her father, James Nickens (wife, Lynne) of Daleville; three step-children and four step-grandchildren; one sister, Dana Williams of Flat Rock; one brother, Michael Nickens (wife, Lindsey) of Muncie; five nieces and nephews, Caleb and Kaitlyn Williams, Nora Nickens, Eric and Corbin Yarber; one aunt, Rina Scroggins (husband, Bob); one uncle, Joe Tobias; and several cousins.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Murial Tobias and James and Neva Nickens; and one brother, David Shane Nickens.Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at New Covenant Ministries, 2208 S. Delawanda Avenue, Muncie.Friends may call at New Covenant Ministries, 2208 S.
