James Summitt, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on February 18, 1956, James was known for his love of fishing and his easygoing nature.

James leaves behind his loving wife, Jean Annette Summitt, whom he married in 1980. Together they raised two wonderful children, Tabitha Michelle Harmon and Lisa Annette Carswell, who brought much joy to his life.

In addition to his children, James is survived by seven adoring grandchildren. His family was the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

James worked as a Fisherman for many years, finding solace and happiness out on the water. Whether he was casting a line or telling tall tales, he was always content in nature.

James' passing was the result of a Cardiac arrest, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his family finds solace in knowing that he is now at peace.
