James Brierton Townsend IIIMay 1, 1955 - December 10, 2016James "Jim" Brierton Townsend III, 61, passed away on December 10, 2016, due to complication of an aneurysm. James was born on May 1, 1955, in Aurora, CO. He was a resident of the Grand Valley and worked in retail management. Jim was a proud Navy Vietnam Veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charlie.Jim was a family man, who loved being a Dad and Papa. His favorite past times were fishing at Vega Lake, and cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos. He loved to explore the landscapes the Western Slope has to offer. He was a well respected man in the community. Jim was friendly and enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life.He is survived by the love of his life of 42 years, Janet; children, Jennifer, Allison and Brierton; grandchildren, Victoria, Dylan, Madeleine, Haylee and Patrick; great-grandchild, Ethan and his beloved dog, Ginger.Jim's Celebration of Life will be held on January 7, 2017, from 2 - 5:00 p.m. at VFW Post 1247, 1404 Ute Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend.
