WILMINGTON | James "Buck" Taylor, age 78, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on May 23, 2016. He was born on May 14, 1938, in Kinston, North Carolina to Lawrence and Annie Taylor. Buck is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Frances; and sons, Robert (Beth) of Cumberland, WI, Mike (Debora) of Huntsville, AL, Russell (Amy) of Hillsborough, N.C., Jeff (Colleen) of Roseboro, N.C. and Kenny (Kim) of New Orleans, LA. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one adopted son, Alan Haithcock of Hillsborough, N.C. Buck served in the United States Coast Guard faithfully for 20 years where he performed duties under the U.S. Navy Seals program and later for Homeland Security. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1535 South 41st St. Wilmington, N.C. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A presentation of Military Honors will be rendered in recognition of James' honorable and faithful service to his country.
