Peterson, James S.James S. Peterson, age 91, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 12, 1926 in Milwaukee to the late Levi and Laura (Anderson) Peterson. James served our country during WWII in the United States Airforce. On September 17, 1949, he was united in marriage to Rachel Rusch in Baraboo. He worked for the State Patrol for 20 years and later for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 15 years. James is survived by: his wife of 67 years, Rachel; their four children, Mark (Mary) Peterson of OK, Anne (Terry) Tischauser of Appleton, Brian (Judy) Peterson of Madison and Matt (Sherri) Peterson of Greenwood; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Mark (Caroline) Mulvaney of Oconomowoc. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
