James Richardson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, at the age of 80 in his sunny hometown of Jacksonville, Florida.
James was born on April 20, 1943, during a time when the world was beginning to emerge from the dark depths of war. He brought light and laughter with him wherever he went, a trait that would define his remarkable life.
Known for his infectious sense of humor, James had an uncanny ability to turn any situation into a lighthearted affair. Whether it was cracking jokes at family gatherings or brightening the mood during tough times, he always knew how to bring smiles to the faces of those around him.
James was also an avid adventurer, always ready for a new escapade. He loved exploring the beautiful beaches of Florida, often hunting for seashells with his grandchildren and regaling them with tales of his own beachcombing adventures.
In addition to his zest for life, James was a passionate collector of puns and dad jokes. No family gathering was complete without his repertoire of punny one-liners, which were met with laughter, eye-rolls, and mock groans from loved ones.
Throughout his life, James touched the lives of many with his kind heart, witty charm, and contagious laughter. He leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and laughter that will resonate with his family and friends for generations to come.
James is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha Richardson; his children, Tony Jefferies; and his three grandchildren, Stephon Watkins, Elina Jefferies and NyGia Camp. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May his spirit forever brighten our lives.
James Richardson, forever remembered for his infectious laughter and witty humor, will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
