James P. BensonAGE: 84 • HazletJames P. Benson, 84, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 8, 2017 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. He was born on November 6, 1932 in Inglewood, CA, where he grew up. In 1965, James moved to Elizabeth, where he met his wife, Jeanette. On November 7, 1970, they were married and began their lives together. In 1998, they settled in Hazlet. Before retirement, James worked for Engelhard Industries in Newark. He was predeceased by his parents. James is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jeanette C. (Brusco) Benson, his loving daughter, Lisa J. Vanderbilt and her husband, Darryl, of Florida, along with his cherished grandson, Mathew Vanderbilt.
