James Luther Smart, 78, of Pontiac, MO, passed away on April 5, 2024, at Baxter Health in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born October 3, 1945 in Gainesville, MO, to Kreath Smart and Myrtle Rae Shockey. James was known for his love of fishing, hunting, and spending time with his dogs.

James is survived by his wife, Roberta, his daughters: Cindee Ruark, Kelli Plumley, Vernie Pauley, and Betty Ruth Petty; grandchildren: Samantha Pauley, Courtni and Casey Ruark, Brittany and Tasha Stanley, and Samanza Seward; as well as great-grandchildren: Damien, Lucien, Malcom, Kaylie, Xandar, Elias, Dustin, Izzamay, Tatum, and Tegan.

James was preceded in death by his children, Jimmy Smart, James Smart, and Tina Blackburn.

James will be remembered for his passion for the outdoors and his beloved canine companions.
