OWEN - James L. 'Vic' Hickey, 89, formerly of Boyd, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Clark County Health Care Center. James was born on January 19, 1922, the son of John and Rose (nee: Taft) Hickey in Cadott. Vic was united in marriage to Odetta Witt on November 13, 1950, in Cadott. He resided in Chippewa Falls until 1955, moving to Union Grove until 1995, when he moved to Boyd. He lived in Boyd until he bought his first home in Owen in June of 2005. He became very ill in 2011 and for a short time resided at Miller's Alternate Care Facility in Thorp. Due to continuing failing health, his last remaining days were spent at the Clark County Health Care Facility. He is survived by a son, Patrick Hickey of Union Grove; daughters, Linda (James) Massie of Lublin, Sandra Vanswol, Jackie Hickey, and Alice Osborne, all of Union Grove; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many step-great-grand- children; many step- great-great-grandchil- dren; a brother, Dayton Hickey of Cornell; a sister, Emeline Nichols of Cadott; and many nieces and nephews. Vic was preceded in death by his wife, Odetta; his parents; many brothers and sisters; and one step-grand- daughter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott with Rev. George Olinske officiating. Interment will be in the Bateman Cemetery in the Town of Lafayette with Military Honors conducted by the Cadott American Legion and VFW.
