James Edison Edward Smallwood, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, at the age of 44.Throughout his life, Jame was a devoted son, brother, Beloved father, uncle, and friend. Born on August 18, 1980, to Judith Kaye Balloon, James Smallwood was known for his big smile also kind and gentle spirit, always smiling he was willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. James will be remembered for their infectious smile and warm personality that brightened the lives of all who knew them. His loss will be deeply felt by the community he was a part of. James's memory will live on in the hearts of those they touched.

James Attend John T. Hoggard High School. He spent some time working with Waste Management. Along with other jobs he would take on.

He is survived by his loving Daughter Solveig Serenity Judith Smallwood, Sister Elizabeth Balloon, Martha Grady-Smith (Stevie Smith) Aunt's Cathey Morris, Juliet Jacob's Darenda Moore uncles Daren Balloon, David Levon Balloons, Bobby Moore, Eddie Moore a host is Nieces and Nephew and cousin family and friends, who will cherish the memories they shared with him for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Judith Kaye Balloon and James Smallwood along grandparents Zezel Louise and Irvin Balloon, Willie Avon Griffin, Clarence Williams Griffin, Marion Balloon, Irvin Balloon (Jr) Gregory Moore, Stanley Moore, Tyrone Moore.
