James Donald JonesBrownwoodJames Donald Jones, age 80, of Brownwood, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at a local nursing home. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Blaylock Funeral Home. Funeral service for James is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Art Woodcox officiating with burial at 2 p.m. in Miles Cemetery in Miles, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.James was born on May 8, 1937, to Sam and Eddie Blanche (Michou) Jones in Ivan, Texas. He played football for Breckinridge Buckaroos from 1952 to 1954, helping to win two State Football Championships. He attended college at Cisco Junior College and Howard Payne. James married the love of his life, Jerrilyn "Jerri" Wright, on Feb. 3, 1968, in Miles, Texas.James was very instrumental in starting the Lake Brownwood Lions Club, which he was the founder and a member of. He also helped with the establishment of Centex Soccer Association. He was former owner of J&J Automotive. He also worked for Coca-Cola for 27 years, and was the manager of Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Brownwood. James was a Godly man and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jerrilyn "Jerri" Jones, of Brownwood; daughter Jennifer Chadwick of Arlington; son James Logan Jones and wife Brandy of Waxahachie; three grandsons, Landon Jones, Alan Chadwick and Mason Chadwick; and four great-grandchildren, David and Sophia Chadwick and Hope and Faith Chadwick. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Blanche Jones; three sisters, Dot Nelms, Gracie Odum and Audine Jones Williams; and one brother, Ray Jones.In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Miles Cemetery (P.O.
