We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of James O'Neal, a beloved Father, Friend, and Grandfather. James was born on January 17, 1961 in Spokane, Washington and loving raised by Napoleon and Rhodima O'Neal.

James had a quirky sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could light up any room. He loved to cook and eat, always experimenting with new recipes and culinary techniques. He also had a passion for installing sound systems and could talk endlessly about cars, much to the amusement of his friends and family. Also you can not forget if you walked past him you would get a whiff of something that would have you inquiring about the fragrance.

After graduating from Oakland Technical High School in 1979, James went on to work at General Motors where he dedicated many years of hard work before retiring in 2022.

Despite his love for food and cars, James ultimately passed away from natural causes on July 14, 2024.

He leaves behind three children - Jakari O'Neal, Lauren Stevenson, and Sheila O'Neal; A very special life long friend (Former Wife) LaRhonda Stevenson with whom he shared eight stepchildren that he adored as his own; Walter Leslie III, Markeis Leslie (proceeding him in death), Jasmine Bryant, Iesha Miller, Shakela Miller, Jaquale Leslie, Jamal Bryant, and Zenobia Stevenson; and two adoring grandchildren; Jaxx O’Neal and Masyn Anderson. Special Friends, Will (Ella) Balam , Bernard (Rayleene) Miller, Alvin Harris, and many more. He will be remembered for his big heart, infectious smile, and unforgettable stories that brought joy to those around him. Rest in peace, James - you will be dearly missed. WE LOVE YOU and May you dwell with the Lord for all of eternity!
