James Howard ChapmanBattle Creek, MIJames Howard Chapman, 81, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 4, 1935, the son of Roy Garland Chapman and Minda (Owens) Chapman.Jim served faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Upon his return home he married his wife and they began their family.Jim is survived by his Wife of 60 years - Frances (LaFata) Chapman; Daughter, Minda Martin; two Sons, John (Tammy) Chapman and James (Terri) Chapman; 9 Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; two Sisters, Ruth Chapman, Opal Wellman and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.He absolutely loved sports, he enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers no matter the score. He enjoyed old country music and having a few beers with friends. In his younger years, he loved to play the guitar. His family was his world, and he adored spending his time with them.Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W.
