James Austin Harjo is the son of David Harjo and Sarah Jean Davis. As a child, James was always at the top of his class and excelled at academics. He postponed his college career to serve his country near the end of the Vietnam war, then came back home to Baker, Oklahoma to pursue his dream of welding. He met the love of his life, Marie Ann Jacobs, at church in 1977 and they married two years later. They stayed together through thick and thin and had 3 children and 5 grandchildren who will miss James much. James was a loved member of Saint Johns Lutheran Church and an inspiration to his community. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
