James Alfred Hansen RACINE — James Alfred Hansen, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. James was born on February 2, 1932 to Alfred and Frances (nee: Hammerstrand) Hansen in Racine. He was united in marriage to Dorthea Christensen on July 10, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. James was a devoted employee of the City of Racine and Racine County for 33 years. He was an active member at Grace Lutheran Church. James enjoyed taking trips up north with his family to their cottage. He also liked to go hunting and fishing. James will be dearly missed by his wife, Dorthea; his son, Stephen Hansen (Dennise); his grandchildren, Steven, Nick (Kaylee), Corey (Jessica), Haley, Jamie, Julie, and Sandy; his great-grandchildren, Mylee and Corey Jr.; his sister, Mary (Stuart) Erbe; his brother-in-law, Max Christensen; and other loving relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Frances; his son, James K. Hansen; and sisters, Verle (Dean) Schmid, and Fern (Gordy) Nelson. Funeral services for James will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 8:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home. Relatives and friends can meet the family from 6:00 PM until the time of service at 8:00 PM.
