We are saddened to announce the passing of James Smith, who was born on March 7, 1982, and passed away on February 21, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. He was the beloved son of Lamont Sr Smith and Ann Smith, and the loving spouse of Latonia Smith, whom he married in the year 1991.

James leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, as well as his three children, Jaela Smith, DeQuarius Smith, and Myaa Smith. He was also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren.

James was a dedicated member of the Memphis Police Department, where he worked tirelessly to keep his community safe. Prior to his service in law enforcement, he proudly served in the Air Force as an E4.

Known for his infectious smile and sense of humor, James will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
