James (Pat) Cash, 70, of Richmond, California, passed Thursday, July 16, 2020. James (Pat) was born to Warren Cash, and Dorothy Cash, July 12, 1950 in Richmond, California.

He is survived by two brothers, Michael Cash and Ronald Cash, one sister Kimberly Cash, sister-in-law Betty Cash, two nieces Michelle James and Corina Nelson, two great nephews Armani Cagler-Cash and Francisco Diaz, one niece-in-law Kali Diaz, three great great nieces Armani-Jaye Cagler-Cash, Aleiya Cagler-Cash, Adrianna Diaz, and one great great nephew Zaiden Cagler-Cash, and a host of cousins in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

He graduated from Richmond High School. He served his country in the Army for 2 years years, from 1969-1971, he was deployed to Vietnam. 

He loved all sports. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing golf. Diabetes presented some challenges in the past few years preventing him from actively enjoying sports. However, he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all Bay Area sports teams. He was creative and loved music, played the harmonica, taught himself to play the guitar and played his own music. He also loved the Blues.

He spent his 70th birthday in ICU and four days later succumbed to complications due to COVID-19. He is and will be greatly missed. We have solace knowing he not in pain and is now resting in peace. His untimely passing has driven the family to speak and raise awareness to the seriousness of safety precautions and exposure to asymptomatic COVID-19 carriers.

The family asks that everyone be informed, share and take seriously safety precautions for COVID-19. A properly worn mask, social distancing, washing hands, using sanatizer, quarentining whether positive or asymptomatic and take any other precautionary measures needed during this time. While these measures may seem like an inconvenience it could save not just yours, a loved ones and even a strangers life! 

Due to the current pandemic a memorial will be held at a later date to be announced.
